Information design is the art and science of preparing and presenting information so that people can understand it easily. Whereas information architecture is concerned with the relationship between units of information, information design is concerned with the content and visual presentation of each unit of information.
Information design requires a broad understanding of research, writing and visual communication. It also requires in-depth knowledge the way people interact with technology, particularly the human-computer interface.
My experience encompasses the information design and user interface design for a number of CD-ROMs, websites, intranets and software applications.
